Hi All

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
The area that is of most interest is around Bellshill/Bothwell in Lanarkshire.
I have just found and joined the Lanarkshire FHS and I am also due to go to Scotland so I will visit the local cemetries when I am there.

I will also try the IGI search.

Have you tried IGI Family search, I have found some deaths for my Scottish family on there.

Or try IGI Batch numbers as below:-

Hi Thomas-
Have you tried looking for Monumental Inscriptions of gravestones in the area? Try the nearest FHS or Scottish Genealogical Society or even try and visit the area -I had a lot of info from gravestones which contained details of a number of generations Regards Heather

Where in Scotland are you interested in?

If it is Fife there are some deaths on the fife fhs site.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Is there anywhere I can search for deaths in Scotland before 1855. On the Scotlands people site the OPR's are for Births/Baptisms or Banns/Marriages.
