If you do not have a possible year to start the search, its helpful if you know the year of birth of their eldest child, as a starting point.

Not sure what you mean. It depends on when the marriage took place.

If it was before about 1920 then you can look on FreeBMD. If it was later than that you will have to trawl through the complete marriage index qtr. by qtr for every year until you find the marriage and the spouses surname will be in the index. You can then cross reference in the same qtr and year with the spouses surname to find the spouses first name.

Please could someone tell me, if you have the spouse name & DOB how do you find there partner
