yes - marriages.

Sorry, we found no matches.

Search for
Type: Marriages
Surname: mason
First name(s): oliver
Start date: Mar 1900
End date: Dec 1950
Spouse/Mother's surname: Fettiplace
Spouse's first name(s): margaret

those are the results I get..

Are you choosing the right event to search for?

Ah, do you mean that late marriage? freebmd only goes up to roughly the 2nd decade as its still an ongoing project. To find events that dont appear on there you have to look through the complete bmd index - as on ancestry or find my past - both pay to view sites.

Wth a lovely unusual surname like Fettiplace, Id put all events on the freebmd site and bring up everyone of them. Likely to be connected and worth keeping for the future.

Hi Heather,

Thanks, I did try the free bmd site. I have just tried it again and it still shows no results for me.

Will go and read it again, but I just dont understand what I am doing wrong. :(

Jasmyne, you can look them up yourself on freebmd.org - births, marriages and deaths being transcribed from the index by volunteers.

Read the Tips for Newbies threads.

You need the refs given to buy the certificates from GRO online for £7 each.
