Clerk of this place implies that he was the priest.

Scattergood is certainly a common name in this aea,

If you suspect that Thomas b 1811 was a priest, you nneed to access Crockford'd Clerical Directory, I found it by googling, and got through to Lambeth Palace and they will do a free search for you.

Have you got any clues at all as to where they may have been from? Somebody on here once suggested to get a map out, identify a 5 or 10 mile radius around the place you've got and then systematically look at all the parish records for churches in that boundary.

It is probable that they are from an area close by.

can anyone tell me what i can do to find people that are not in parish recs, i am looking for mum and dad of thomas scattergood born 1798 in seal/overseal?
