Fire, I should imagine size would not matter. The photo is scanned and then when the edit button is hit it enlarges the picture anyway.

As long as you can scan it at a fairly high resolution then I think someone would be able to help you.

Some years ago I had some spots 'removed' from some old photos. They dont touch the original of course, merely scan it and work on that then print out the result. The cost depends on how much work is needed.

Now I have a scanner I had a go at restoring one badly marked photo. I was fine on the large area of sky but when it came to the bit near a roof and some trees I was hopeless, and my hand was a bit shaky with old age. But it was interesting to try. At least small spots are easily removed. And if you dont like the result you scan again and try again.

Yes, as Elaine says, there are a few people on Family Tree Forum who love to restore photos with their programs. They have put together a few torn ones for me.

When i was having my digital photos printed at Tescos last week I noticed a sign saying they offered this service. Can't remember exactly how much about £45 I think.

I think there may be some computer programs which do this.

Many of the family history magazines carry adverts for this service too.
I've never used them, so can't advise, ..sorry.
