Could some kind person have a look to see if they can find a George Mason on the 1851 and 1861 census.
Have found him on the 71,81,91,01.
I have his marriage certificate so know his father is John Mason Shoemaker.
On all census he states born 1850 St. George in the East, if I could find him on these two census I would then know who his parent's and siblings were.

Any help much appreciated

Thank you Glitter Baby & Rutland for your quick work!

George states on all census born St. George in the East, do you know what area St. Luke covers?

Thanks again - Terri

Christine

There could be a connection. All I know for certain is George married Martha Gill. He worked at Steven's Ink Factory starting as a Stain Maker (on the 1871 census) and ending up as a Foreman (on the 1901 census).

Maybe John his father had a brother Samual?
Will let you know if I find a connection.
