For it to be wireless you will need broadband at home (or at your shop) and a wireless router. This then transmits the signal which is picked up by your laptop without it being wired up to anything.

You can 'charge them up' and use off the battery (lasts about 2 hours) or you can use them plugged into the mains with the lead supplied.

You can only use them in places where there is WiFi (wireless internet access). This will usually be at home or wherever you have your broadband connection. Some cafes / pubs / hotels have 'hotspots' which are basically places where you can access the internet (but you will normally have to pay unless they advertise free WiFi).

You could also pay for a mobile internet subscription, I have never used these and believe they are quite expensive but you can use them anywhere.

I am thinking of getting a new computer possible a laptop.
My son told me that they are wireless, how does that work please.
Do you charge it up if so does that mean I can go any where and be on the internet?
We have a shop with a phone line could I charge it at home and take it down to the shop and be on line......sorry to be a bit thick but I have never had one of these.
Thanks for listening
Sue
