Hello all,
My research has taken me pre-1841 and I have a couple of records, of which I would like to see the originals. These are marriage and birth records in the parish register of the same church and I believe that there could be other related records. How do I go about searching these records? Are they still at the specific church or would they have been moved to a central records office? Do I contact the relevant vicar? I am happy to visit the relevant place in person but do not know what I am expected to do.
Kind regards and many thanks
Greg

They would be kept at the church until the book was full, then sent on to the appropriate records office. Once can contact a records office to ask for a search if it is not possible to search personally.

You can try familysearch.org first to see if the event is on that site. also, try googling, because some are online; if it is a Cornish event, many are online including all census.
Also, there are OPCs (online parish clerks) who are volunteers that do look-ups for parishes in many counties.
