Evening all,
Does anyone have any good recommendations for books to read on WW1 & WW2.
I dont mean this in any disrespectful way, but I would like one (max 2) books on each of the wars.
There are so many out there, that I dont know where to begin looking for a few that can sum it up, but still bring home the intensity of the situation.
I hope that I am making sense, and not appearing rude. My bookshelves are filling up on topics / locations that affected my family tree, and it wouldnt be complete without this.
Thank you in advance.

Depends which aspects of the wars you want information on.

Do you want to know about the regiments.

Do you want to know about strategy.

Do you want to know about battles.

Do you want to know about civilians in the war.

Do you want to know about weapons.

Do you want to know about women in the war.

Do you want to know about spies.

As you can see, the list is long - and that's only part of it.

If you could be a little bit more specific in your request, someone may be able to advise you appropriately.

Karen,

If you want all of the above in one volume (about 900 pages in paperback) I would thoroughly recommend "Calvocoressi and Wint: Total War" on WWII.
