I have had a letter from a distant relation re our family tree who put her address and post code on her letter and signed her name but has put no surname. I am writing back to her and feel very rude not putting her surname. Would the electrol role help with just an address please.
Any advise would be appreciated. Irene

Morning Irene,
The electoral role will help you if you have access to it.
Someone very kindly looked up a current occupant for a house that is of significant meaning in my tree - with just the address to go on.

Thank you Karen now I have to ask is there any kind person that could find the name for me on the electrol role. I do not want to post her address on here. Many thanks Irene

hi there,
Someone sent me a letter with my first name only. I didn't really mind. Its better to send the letter than not to keep in contact because you can't or don't know the surname, go for it. They won't mind im sure.

Thank you for your kind replies. I did post the letter off to her today and explained that I did not know her surname. I just thought it maybe easy to find her surname. Never mind. Thanks Irene
