Hi Nigel
The records before 1860 were mostly destroyed but they managed to save about a third - if you do not know the area they were registered it might be difficult but you could do a search in Paris yourself at the record office which I have done (they were very helpful) also there are no passenger lists for travel from the continent unfortunately .

You have to know in which arrondissement in Paris they were born, married or died and apply to the corresponding Mairie (Town Hall) of that arrondissement for their acte de naissance, marriage or deces.

There is no centralised BMD as in the UK.

Sorry I've no idea, but I also have rellies that came over from Paris to Liverpool (via Brighton) but in the 1860's so would be interested in any responses you get:-)

hi does anyone know how to go about getting certificates from paris ? also i have relatives that travelled over from paris to liverpool between 1854-1856 any ideas where to get travel records from
