Did you have anything on your file which indicated roughly how old he was?

Was he your birth Mother's boyfriend ( probably the sameish age as her)

Was he an older married man?

Where was she living when she fell pregnant?

If your lucky he was her boyfriend of roughly the same age as her and lived in the same area.

If you don't have your file go back to SS and get a copy.

Good luck.

does any one know how to get hold of adoption records? I am adopted - did see a councillor in 1980s in order to obtain birth certificate. Mothers name was on it - I did meet her, both her and councillor told me of fathers name (Gordon cook) but I have no date of birth which would be useful.
