My great-grandfather was Russian and I'd like to trace his tree. Has anyone got any tips for tracing family trees in Russia?

Thanks

Jayne

Try some of the sites via Google..
for example...

My usual suggestion would be, as a start...

http://www.cyndislist.com/

And enter Russia into 'Search'.

However, I believe, Russian family history tracing is notoriously difficult unless you have a vague/good idea of where your ancestors came from in Russia.

Good luck

That's great thank you both - I'll start with these websites. I have my great grand father's place of birth, so hopefully I can start there.....
