Just looked at the 1891 census and Henry, William 10, and Sidney are the children of William & Alice. William's brother Isaac is living with them and Emma, Charles, William 9, Ernest, Alice and Frederick are his children.

Update, oops, you knew that!

That's them. Emma and Charles are William's brother's kids.

Possible 1881?
2 Star Lane, Fulham, Chelsea, London
William Cardey, head, 21, stableman, born Suffolk, Bares?
Alice, wife, 20, born Bethnal Green
*Harry P., son, 2, born Hackney
William, son, 4 months, born Hammersmith

But where's Emma Cardy who should be 2 and Charles who should be 1?

Good one, Rose!
I've seen it happen so many times that they take their step-father's name then use their birth name at marriage.

On his marriage registration on FreeBMD he's Henry Thomas Peachey and she's Caroline Mary Giles.

Most likely reason is a mistranscription or his mother remarried and he's under another surname.

Do you know who his parents were.
