I have the birth cert of my husbands grandads brother. His grandad and his brother a year older we could not find births for.We have found the elder one and the younger one.Very strange. The address on the birth cert for 1904 gives a house address out in name ,surname and maiden surname of mother. In the where and when born is the workhouse and cant read the road.In the column for residence address she has put the workhouse and not the other address. The road for the workhouse thats hard to read is something like Renpew,Remfew or something like that.Any help on that road would be great as i might be able to find hubbys grandad. Lambeth workhouse was where Charlie Chaplin was for a while when he was a lad - with his mum and brother.

It later became the Lambeth Hospital (not sure what year). It no longer exists but if you google Lambeth Hospital you might still find the pictures of it in ruins.

I was born there when it was "officially" the hospital!
