It could be a surname - there are abt 400 Adie's in SCT and abt 350 in ENG in 1901

Could anyone help me with what the name ADIE, could be short for?

I have an Adie Coldrick, b1900, off the 1901 census, although the surname is miss-spelled as COLDERICK.

But cannot find another trace of her.

I have looked, on freebmd, ancestry, family search, wawickshire bdm.

Theres nothing, no birth, death or marriage.

I wondered if Adie was short for another name, but not sure!!
