hi could someone tell me the best website/place to order a marriage certificate so that i can trace my tree further. someone kindly gave me info about my great great grandparents and i would to find out more.

If you put their names on trying to find see what people can find for you first Gro.gov is £7 for a certificate

The above is the correct address. Pricing as ChristineC says above. DON'T fall for some of these sites with similar URL's but who charge anything upto £25 per certificate.

You should never really need to pay more than £7.

Hi Vicky

If your relly is on one of the BMD sites, you can order certs for £7 and specify lots of criteria, so that if your application is rubbish you do not pay a penny. e.g. lancashirebmd.org.uk

Or you can try writing to the local register office and you might be suprised how helpful some of the can be -free of charge, Of course you have to pay the £7 for a certificate but can be pretty sure it is the right one.
