Kathlyn....I have access to a RC Marriage Records Index for Liverpool however they are mainly for those of Irish descent but if you give me a name I can cross ref.to indicatewhich Church marriage took place.

St Peters church was on Lord Street, one of the main streets in Liverpool but it closed years ago. I have seen many records from that church so I guess it was a highly populated area at one time. Now its all shops!

I have a big map of the Liverpool parishes. St Peters is adjacent to Our Lady and St Nicholas. The link below from Lancs OPC says that the area was split into 5 wards - and these are 2 of them. So it probably is St Peters if that is what the bmd site says

Oh dear, I feel a right royal headache coming on....

Just been on the Lancs BMD site and found details of the marriage I am looking for, but....the marriage cert I have states the following..

The Parish Church in the Parish of Liverpool..(.which I am informed is Our Lady and St.Nicholas)

But on the LancsBMD site the church is recorded as...St. Peter.

HI Andy,

Many thanks for that bit of info. I have emailed the Liverpool RO to see if they hold the church marriage records for this church, and their answer was ...NO.

I looked on the Lancashire Parish Clerk but it is naming lots of areas under the Liverpool heading.
