Cynthia Thats what I thought, I have emailed them in the feedback reporting the error 1401, dont know if it will do any good, then again it says a Pilot Site means they have to stop it sometimes to add more information. This must be a good thing but it is very frustrating when you find something this good and you cant get on it. LOL.

Thank you so much Marilyn.
This is saving me weeks of travelling to the office in Chester. It's brilliant!

If you are looking at Bunbury, Cheshire a lot of the parish records are missing from about 1704 to 1727 ish, but you will find them on the Bishops Transcripts for same place.

Cant believe how good this is.

You can now access it thru the standard site:
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp
Select Record Search - Record Search Pilot from the blue menu bar.

They also have untranscribed images of the Durham Bishops' Transcripts. The diocese seems to cover DUR, NBL and a couple of parishes in east CUL, and a few in NRY.

This is really worth looking at if you are searching relatives in Cheshire.

Just got this email off a new found relative, thought it may be of interest to some people searching Cheshire records.

The Family Search site has now loaded the images of the original parish registers for Cheshire, although they are not indexed yet so you have to look through them page by page.

http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#w=;p=2;c=1469935;t=browsable

You will be presented with a list of parishes, scroll down until you come to the one you want and then click Parish Records which should be displaying on the right hand side. Look for the year and type of record you are seeking and then you will have to work your way through the copies of the original records until you come to the date you are looking for. It does take a while for them to load but be patient because it is worth it.

Happy hunting
