Please can anyone help before i pull my hair out. Can someone be listed in two places on the same census? I am looking for a George Mills b 1836 in Bristol. Found him on 1871 with his wife and family, then on 1861 with wife and family, but he is also listed with his parents at a different address. Could his father have just given all his childrens names not just the ones living at home.Has anyone else come across this before. Any help would be much appreciated ............thanks Sue

I've come across this a couple of times.

He may have been visiting mum and dad the night the enumerator called. But he may have already completed the form at home with his wife and handed that in!

It does happen so don't worry too much if you're sure all the info matches to your man.

Not by any means unusual.....I have at least three examples of this........and the subject crops up quite often on here, so I'm far from the only one!
