Hello Everyone,

My mother and I were chatting and we were talking about Sunderland and we both remember two very old houses (they must have been 200-300 years old) and were very run down. They were situated (we think) on the bend of High Street west coming down from the Empire Theate.

Can anyone else remember these? they were pulled down years ago but I can't quite remember when. I've tried googling them but because i don't know any details I've not had much luck, I'd love to see a photograph of them as I can remember as a little girl getting quite spooked by them but loving them at the same time.

Hi Frances

I've been onto the web site and the heritage gallery unfortunately is not working at the moment! You can do a search but because I don't know what they were known as I'm a bit stumped!

Hello everyone

If any of you are interested in seeing a photo of these houses go to the east durham online (seaham project). the owner of the site, Dave Angus has posted a photo on the discussion forum. They were called Colliers Row.
