Does anyone know if Slaughter Rents was anywhere near East Street, Greenwich? Birth cert May 1841 - address East Street, Greenwich East, Kent. Address on 1841 census is "Slaughter Rents", Greenwich. Seems an odd time to move with a new born baby.

Just curious really! Gai

Do you have access to Ancestry?

The family in 1841 are in Greenwich, Greenwich East, District 5

The ED sheet mentions East St

No, It's on my Christmas present list to myself!!

The 1841 census I found was from findmypast and just says address: Slaughter Rents, Greenwich. Do you mean that East Street is part of Slaughter Rents?

Send me your email addy, by pm, and I will forward the ED sheet to you.

Think it means Slaughter Rents are part of East St but it is not mentioned

You may find it was a number of houses rented by someone called Slaughter in that street.
