Hi

You're welcome. And interestingly this St Clements is the one mentioned in the nursery rhyme "Oranges and Lemons" - say the bells of St Clements!!!

Hi Alison

Thank you so much - I'm sure this must be the same guy - I'm wondering if he coud have been Paul's brother as they were of a similar age but as Paul was listed as from foreign parts I guess I may never know.

many thanks for info

Hello

In the burial records on British Origins is:

Anthony Axman, age 34, died 1827, buried at St Clement, Eastcheap, London.

Which would be right if he lived in Cannon Street.

Having seen a link to the free trial on the British Library Newspapers I did a search on my husbands family Axmann. It gave me a death in the Morning Cronicle Sat Nov 17th 1827 but part of the name was in the curve of the page and I can't make it out!!

On the 15th inst., in the 34th year of his age Mr A.... Axmann of 50 Cannon-street city.

I am particularly interested as my husbands ggg grandfather was mentioned in the Gazette as being at that address a few years later and I am hoping this may be another relative of his - I only have him on the 41 census as from forein parts and he unhelpfully died in 1849 just to make my life more difficult lol.

Is there anywhere else online I could look for this info or do I need to get a look at the original?

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Jak
