i think my brain was stuck in sussex just because her mum looked after denis when young so i thought perhaps she would have stayed at home, but i could definately see your thiking, i probably should have thought outside the box a bit! thanks again jim.you've all given me the boost i need to start up the search again. thank you.

The reason I looked outside of Sussex,for Dennis, is that single mums often went away from home,for a birth.

oh my goodness thank you soo much, i have been checking for ages! hopefully that's only recently put on otherwise i feel like a complete dunse! Thank you potty- atleast that gives me a reference to order the certificate!

thank you christine. if the 1923 is the crrect marriage i think he must have been born earlier than that. my nan was pretty certain that he was about 8 or 9 year older than her. he was definately born a while before agnes met my nans father, as he went to live with her mother because she couldn't cope alone. dennis grew up with his grandmother until agnes married george rogers. thank you both very much for answering me so quickly!

hi all,

I have been searching for my great grandparents marriage for a while now. my grandma was born in reigate district in dec 1928. she is registered mar 1929 her name is sylvia rogers, mmn holloway.

Ok got that BUT, i cannot find her parents marriage. i beleive it must have been between 1922 and 1928, their names were George Albert Rogers and Agnes Daisy Holloway. my nans half brother was born in 1922 (we think- i can't find this either) before her parents married. his name is Dennis holloway. i am not aware of his fathers name.

if anyone could help me find either of these events i would be very grateful.
