Is it possible to search anywhere with just a DOB? Im searching for somebody who has changed his name a couple of times but I think I know the date of birth [ unless he made that up too] I would be able to work out the person by various names i have if i could just look at records around the date
heres hoping

If you have access to the full BMD listings (on Ancestry or one of the other sites) you could - probably - look through the whole quarter - but there would be a lot of records and it would take quite a while. They don't give you the actual date of birth - just the quarter that it was registered in so you might need to trawl through two quarters.

Long job ...

I think they break it down by letter of the alphabet but once you are in the names beginning with A then you should be able to page forwards using those little green arrows.

I quite often find mistranscribed names in the census by just searching for the first name, place of birth and approx year.
