Linda, you might have gotten by as I presume only one was being actively used, but see:

Jim, yes you can have two ancestry windows on the screen at the same time - of course you have to resize them so neither fills the screen

Or another way to open an identical window is to press Ctrl+N so you can have more than one open at the same time to do comparisons etc. as Jayne mentioned.

Go to top menu...click on FILE - down a few - NEW WINDOW - opens the identical one that you have open - I often use it to cross-reference marriage details on ancestry...

One surname in one window...one surname in the other !!!

I regularly open two windows at once on same computer.Which is a similar thing,try it.

I am registerred with Ancestry and had gone to my sons to do some research and had left myself logged on on my computer at home.

I realized when I got there and my son suggested I try anyway and I got logged on there as well although I was already logged on at home...if you know what I mean.

Didn't think you could do that!
