Hello Roger

My mum's 1st cousin is named Reuben Alfred Junior Walker born 1922 Shoreditch, London. His father was named Reuben Alfred Walker born 1898 Shoreditch, London. Perhaps there is a connection to your Walker family.

Roger, I wouldn't rule out the Guildford one just yet. They tended to marry where the bride lived.

And back in the 1890s they travelled a lot further than we think they did. Trains had been around for quite a while by then and they did not necessarily stay in the same area.

I know NOTHING about Emily other than her immediate family, as shown, which is why it is so frustrating. I do not think this William Reuben is the one who married in Guildford as his birth place is shown as Southwark and mine was Shoreditch. Do not seem to find any family in the 1881 census although in all others. Thanks all for your help.
Sorry not to respond immediately but had to take Grandson out for a while.

There are so many Emily Walker marriages that it would be impossible to find out which one could be your Emily. Do you have any other info on her at all? Did she have any children? Do you know even her husband's first name? Did she definitely marry?

Hi Jill,
Yes for months but seem to have a mental block or just simply hit a brick wall. Just hoping some fresh eyes might untangle this a little for me.
Kind regards,
Roger

Have you looked on FreeBMD? A lot of the earlier ones should be on there.

Firstly I have all the census records for this family but what I am stuck on is Marriage/Death information. Can anyone please help!!!???
William Reuben Walker b 1859 SON of Reuben Walker 1834 and Sarah Smith. MARRIAGE/DEATH SOUGHT.

William Reuben Walker b 1879 Son of Reuben Walker 1834 and Hannah Walker b 1856 (Previously Nevell - they never married and she was the Daughter o Sarah's first marriage). Born Shreditch, London. He appears to have married Rose Nash in 1911. DEATH SOUGHT.

Thomas Walker 1886 Son of Reuben Walker 1884 and Hannah. Born Islington, London. MARRIAGE/DEATH SOUGHT.

Emily 1889 Daughter of Reuben 1834 and Hannah. Born Islington London. MARRIAGE/DEATH SOUGHT.

My parents were mainly raised in care by Barnados so information has always been scarce, particularly on this my Dad's side. I now live in New Zealand. Any help much appreciated.
Thank you,
Roger
