Could anyone advise please re AVG invalid Update C

For the past couple of days when I try to update the free AVG it won't update and it just says Invalid Update Control CTF file. I just wondered whether this has happened to anyone else on here and whether you could advise me please.

Thanks for your message. I managed to solve the invalid update by looking on http://freeforum.avg.com. which provided me with a link to get rid of the CTF file. I'll make a note of your link in case I get anymore errors in future. Thanks again.
