Not quite as bad, but almost!

The problem that I have (and maybe I'm looking for the problems) is that I am not quite certain as to whether the mother was due to be married, so potentially there could be 2 surnames which I know and 2 locations.

If you don't mind the email direct I will give you more info.

As you have an address and 2 possible surnames, can you search all the boys in the 80s with those two surnames? (Hope it's not Smith and Jones lol!)

Unfortunately not, I don't even know what his surname would be.

Do you know your brother's name? If the birth is 1984 or later, it will be on the Ancestry indexes so you will get a district and his full name.

I am trying to find my half brother, but I have no idea where to start. The only information I have is my fathers name and a name of the person to whom he had a child, (may be a married name or a maiden name), and an address from the 1980's.

I think my half brother may not even know I exist therefore I need to tread carefully for all parties concerned.

If my father knows any information he is unwilling to part with it. I also know that he paid maintenance fo this child. Any assistance or any ideas where I can start would be greatly appreciated. If you wish you may contact me direct by request on this thread.

Regards
Jo
