Here is the reply from Medway Medway Archives & Local Studies' Senior Archive Assistant:

"We are currently experiencing problems with the Cityark servers. Hopefully the service will be available within the next few days. We are also extremely inconvenienced by the lack of service. Cityark is primarily our working catalogue which the public are allowed access to. Without the system we are unable to continue with our routine accession work and catalogue updates."

I emailed the site earlier to find out how long they anticipate the site will be down for. Hopefully not much longer - I've been itching to check a marriage register entry since last weekend!

Tracey........I have cityark saved on my favorites.

Just had a peep and it's not working on my computer either.....the site must be down for some reason.

Only part of the page is appearing on my computer and I don't know if this is a problem with the website or at my end. Could someone check for me please?

Go to http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/

and then click the link for Medway ancestors on the bar on the left of the screen. Any joy?

Incidentally, it is an excellent website for accessing original parish register scans if you are researching families in the Medway area of Kent.
