How do I remove a person from tree?

Are you saying that you have descendents attached to only one of the "wives"?

When I had a similar sitiation but with a blank box plus the husband and wife this is what genes told me to do:-

"click on the child in the tree, scroll down and select edit tools, you will see a change parent tab
Select this and select the correct parents from the list - then save"

You should then be able to remove the incorrect father/mother

Worth a try it worked with my undefined spouse!

You say you are being told you have 'added multiple relatives' to this person..............

Click on the name (in the box)........how many other people are linked to the name?

For you to be able to delete the person, there should only one other person's name on the screen.

If you can add A to one wife and B to the other then you should be able to isolate one or the other.
If,as you intimate, you cannot edit one only, then there is a fault.

Maureen you should be able to delete the one that has no descendants
. The only other way is to start deleting the last child joined to the wife. Eventually you will be able to delete the wife Then add the childrens names back again to the wife you have not deleted

Send a message to Genes Reunited and see if they can delete her for you. I'm sure I did that a while back, can't remember the details.

Thanks Eric
Yes - that is the one I am using 'Edit Tools' it states
copy/paste/clipboard/delete person.

Thanks Eric
No I haven't attached descendants to both but still cannot delete person.

Thanks Jill
Done what you suggested but to no avail. Even put in Empty Empty but that alters both wives!!
System keeps telling me that I cannot delete person who has multiple relatives?

Can I just check with you that you are using the 'edit tools' function to the right of the green bar which separates the 'tree' from the individual's details?

Try changing the name to something bizarre so you make sure you don't delete the wrong one. If the worst comes to the worst and you cannot delete her then just change her to Empty Empty or something.

Have you attached descendants to both of them?

If not....make sure you try to delete the one with NO descendants

I have entered a person twice by mistake ...(senior moment I think...) and the system won't let me remove this person by the 'tools, remove person'? Is there another way that I don't know about because at the moment I have a member of my tree with two identical wives!! Thanks for helping. Mo
