Sorry Ann, my request is rather vague. I have just begun researching my husband's family and found close association with Ceylon. Although my husband knew that his mother had been born there, he had no idea about her family at all. From a box of birth certificates we found that Mother's father was a 'tea planter' and that his grandfather was Piers Claughton. first Bishop og Colombo,Ceylon. As such, any 'online' records detailing the history of the area would be of interest.

Many thanks to Margaret, Ann and Lorraine for your kind assistance. The info will be a great help. The family seems quite an interesting one as I have now discovered that Bishop Piers Claughton was the son of Thomas Claughton MP for Lancashire. and that he was married to Maria Legh of Lyme Park - now a National Trust property. Makes my family's history sound quite boring. Once again. a big thank you for your time and for your kindness.
