Mmm.....seems fairly conclusive

All with MMN Ragan............note spelling

Florence B Leaney 1913 Oct-Nov-Dec Poplar (To 1965) Greater London, London, Middlesex

Edward Charles Farquharson 1909 Poplar (To 1965) Greater London, London, Middlesex

Frederick John W Leaney 1909 Poplar (To 1965) Greater London, London, Middlesex

Mary Ann Ragan 1909 Poplar (To 1965) Greater London, London, Middlesex

Sarah Ann Travis 1909 Poplar (To 1965) Greater London, London, Middlesex

Have you checked for subsequent births...to try to establish who married whom?

Either purchase the cert to find out her age and father's details..........or wait for 1911 census, to find out where and when she was born.

Thanks for the prompt replies.

The marriage in question is between Frederick John William Leaney and (I think) Mary Regan. It is entered as Jul Aug Sep of 1909 index 1c 796.

I know the parents of Frederick but I would like to start on Mary if I could but with Regan being a fairly common name it is going to be difficult I think?

Only they index is viewable, not the certificate.

The month is the registered quarter not the month they were married. eg Dec 1908, covers the months Oct/Nov /Dec 1908 . The couple could have married in Sept but not registered until October.

You can't view England/Wales certs on line

Are you thinking of Scottish ones? Even so, you have to pay to view them through Scotlands People webaite................

Hi
I have just started and am doing fairly well because I am staying in the States with my brother with nothing to do!!

My problem is that I cannot look at any certificates until I get home and that is holding me up. I am sure a few years ago when I had a dabble that I could actually look at the certificate I wanted to order.

Is this still possible and if so how do I go about it?

It is the marriage certificate of my Grandfather. I have found record in the BMD index so I know the month and year and place but I want to start on my grandmother and I have no details on her here with me.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Pat
