Hi

Just wondered if anyone could answer a question for me.

My nan according to my mum was put in a childrens home in Brighton when she was a young child. My nan married my grandad in 1943 in Woolwich Kent.

Does anyone know of any Childrens homes in Brighton at that time.

Thanks
Tracie.

If you have a look here:-

http://www.hiddenlives.org.uk/homes/BRIGH01.html

There is this one but it closed in 1921 so it depends on what year she was in the home.

Hi Kath

Thanks for your reply. My nan who was thought to have gone to a childrens home was born in 1921 so I dont think she would of been in this one.

Thanks again for your help
Best wishes
Tracie.

Try contacting Brighton Local History Centre. Have always found them to be very helpful, nothing too much trouble.
