All surviving Army records for those discharged to pension up to 1854 are name indexed on the National Archives catalogue. There's no Michael Kennedy in the 6th Dragoons. So you'd have to go to Kew or get someone to go for you to search records for those discharged after 1854 (if he could have been discharged after this date - it depends on his age). If there are no discharge papers, there are other records to search, such as muster rolls.

Hi Jackie
It does state dragsters on the census but I think your correct in assuming it should read dragoons. His name is Michael Kennedy.

My gt gt grandfather shows on 1841 census as being in 6th Dragsters at Cavetry Barwick Birmingham.
Any ideas where I can trace this regiment?
