You can export your gedcom from genes and import in to a family tree program make the changes then export the new gedcom back to genes

There are quite a few free programs you can download to do this.

Legacy is a good free one although there are others available free to download.

There are 2 free places to put a family tree. You can download one free from Family Search or if you are a member of Ancestry you can put your tree on their site also My Heritage is free. Good luck Irene

Thanks for your help.

I think I will have to get FTM and learn about ged coms!!

Irene, I'm not sure that changing one sister's name would help as she would then be married to the wrong person. For the moment I have added one sister twice, once as a daughter and then as a wife and then just put a note to find her elsewhere in my tree.

Do not delete one of the sisters but just alter her name to the same name as the other sister then alter the year of the birth to match just one sister. Then alter what you like - you can always add the sister again at a later date. Irene

Yep! Get FTM<<<Family Tree Maker (abt £10 from Asda/Tesco)
'Who do you think you are' version is exactly the same as FTM but cheaper.

Make your changes then import back to here via a ged com thingy wotzit!

Clear as mud lol

Only kidding...it's easy peasy and you'll love it!
Best thing is....it allows you to amend your mistakes, unlike GR!

Best of luck

I have just discovered that two entries in my tree are sisters. They are both linked to many descendants and ancestors so I am not able to just delete a few relatives and start again. Is there a solution to this problem?
