An Irish family registering a birth in 1863 only a few years out of Ireland, Mothers name on cert Mary( looks like) Hagion, I found a possible marriage on an Irish website, right time right place I think John Gilmor(e) and Maria Egan what do you think?? If the marriage is correct how do I get a copy.
Thanks Gill

I think that coud be possible. if they had only just come from Ireland perhaps with a strong Irish accent the names could be misheard. if they could not read or write themselves and simply told someone the name perhaps it could just be a result of that.

mine are Fagans and are often put down as Feegan, Fagin or Hagin. so i would say get the copy and see.

Thanks Lee, The first three of there children were born in Ireland, this one is about the 6th so I wondered if I should buy one of the other siblings birth cert born in England just to compare, this family is getting blinking expensive lol

oh tell me about it- don't get me started on my irish connection. my Adam fagan appears in various records as patrick fagan, adain fagan, pat hagin and adam fagan. on birth certs and most censi he's adam fagan so am sticking with that but changes his place of birth too and cannot find a single record for an adam fagan born 1836 in ireland! first time he appears is 1861 census.

ok rant over. lol yes i'd get another one of the siblings certs just to be sure, you could always put a checking point (perhaps fathers name) on the form so atleast if it wasn't yours you'd get a partial refund.
