Ordering GRO certificates

.......a word of caution to the " Unitiated " like me. Few days ago I ordered on-line Marriage Cert quoting all relevent details. I've just received a partial refund and e-mail saying that they were unable to provide a certificate because brides name I quoted was not that on their records. Reason.........basically a spelling mistake, Arnold instead of Arnett which is a constant problem researching this part of the family. I'm not complaing about GRO, I've re-ordered quoting only Grooms name but for the "Just Starting" .....be sure of your details.

What was the name on the GRO index? If it is the same as the name you ordered, I think I would phone them and complain as that is their mistake not yours.

When ordering marriage certs, only one name is necessary. Use the one of which you are 100% certain..............

Potty,
I dont know the name on GRO, the name I quoted was Arnold but I'm guessing that GRO will now be Arnett.

Eric, lesson learnt!
