Hi, just me again, taking over!

I am trying to research a birth in London (EC) in about 1870-1880.

How do I do it!? The father was born in Monmouth and the mother is unknown,

thanks (again!)

Go to freebmd website, and enter the name of the child..........the scroll through the results until you find one in a registration district which would include the birthplace given on the census.

BUT........birth registration was not compulsory until 1875.....so you may not find it!

thanks Eric!

i have been trying to narrow searches but not knowing what London EC was in the 1870s picking a district or county is a tad hard.

What info does 1881 census have about this child?

A 10-year span seems rather excessive.........

I'm confused now............where can't you find him?

Is George on any census with Henry?

If not...........how do you know their relationship?

Where does London EC fit in?
