i have been stuck with this one for quite a while, i have a john porter b1820 portsmouth & elliss or allice no surname b1821 kent i cannot find their marriage around 1844 or their births, i have them in the 1861 &1851 census living in sussex. can anyone help.

Is this them in 1851, living in Brede, Kent although there seems to be some confusion as to whether Brede is in Kent or Sussex:

Faith's birth registration (Rye covers Brede):

The birth cert will give you Allice's maiden name.

i am almost certain its them in the 1851, because both parents have the same place of birth as 1861, faith died 1854 would that also have parents names on the cert

Heres the birth reg for Moses also under Rye
March Quarter 1860 Volume 2b page 11
Like Potty says a birth cert will give you both parents names.
