Looking for information on William Stacey who I believe may have come to Australia as a convict.
I think he may have married a Mary Broe (convict from Ireland).
A marriage is listed on NSW BDM for a Mary Brow/Brown in 1861 to William Stacey at Molong.
If there is anyone out there who can assist me I would be most grateful.

A death for William Stacey in 1888 (if it is actualy the right William) states he was 65 years.
That would make him approximately 38 years when he married and born about 1823.

My William may have arrived on an Assisted Passage from England.
Travelling with a wife (Catherine) and two young sons. After Catherine's death William has then married Maria Mary Brown.
His children to Maria/Mary are William, Ellen and Katherine.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Seems the information you have supplied is just what I am looking for.
The fact that Samuel's death is recorded in Australia indicates that it is the same family who immigrated to Australia. The most important thing you have provided is William's birth place. Great work!!

Hi Sandra,

I haven't been able o find a birth/baptism for William. There was a possible, however he is with his parents on the 1841 census.

If you ordered his marriage certificate to Catherine Gray or Mary Maria hopefully he should name his father. Often the Australian death certificate names both parents, however seeing that the person is deceased the info given on death certificate is only as good as the knowledge known of the person registering the death.

To date I haven't ordered any certificates.
I have looked at the NSW BDM site for the deaths of William, Catherine and Mary but information only shows age at death with no parents listed.
