Is anyone else having problems viewing their own and other peoples trees on Genes, sure it was okay earlier but cant seem to get on anything now, is it just me having an unlucky day or are other people having this problem. It runs down the downloading items in the bottom left hand corner, but stops at 1 remaining.

Any help appreciated, thanks

I very often have that problem, in fact very often I have to do Ctrl Alt Del and end program to be able to get anywhere. One thing that sometimes works for me is to reload computer.

I've had the same problem in the past - try holding down the CTRL key when you click on the "My Family tree" icon.

It can be something to do with the internet options you have on your PC (I think).

There is a duplicate thread on the General Topics board about this, and it looks like a problem with the site.

A new contact has just been back in touch to say she can't open my tree. I can't open hers, nor my own.

I've just opened my tree & viewed another tree, although it took a little bit longer to load than usual.

Hi, thanks for your help, it does it most of the time now but is very very slow.

Thanks again, Marilyn

It has been mentioned before.

Clear your browser temp files and try loading the tree again. This can sometime do the trick.

Holding the Ctrl key down just enables pop-ups which is necessary for GR trees to load.

Alternatively set your browser to accept pop-ups from www.genesreunited.com/ and they should open automatically.

I tend to use Firefox rather than Internet Explorer as my browser as I find this has fewer problem when loading from sites.
