In the overseas birth indices there are four Hasted births but not related to Egypt.

George H... Registered at Helensburgh 1897
Regiment R.A Vol:1490 Page:41

Josephine... Same details as above but registered in 1896.

Margaret E.... Registered at Limerick 1892
Regiment R.A Vol:1490 Page:41

Wilhelmina L....Registered at Limerick 1889
Regiment R.A Vol:1434 Page:106

I can't see an overseas marriage for any Halsted.

If you can't find the births or marriages you want in the GRO overseas index then the British Embassy in Cairo will carry out a search.

In 2006 the charge was...
£41 for a search and £41 for a certified copy of the certificate.
If they need to carry out a search of local authority records an additional charge of £84.50 is made but that includes the cost of the certificate.

I am trying to find a William Robert Hasted or any Hasted in Egypt
who may have been related.He is believed to have been in the army on detachment to the Bengal Lancers in India later moving to Egypt still with the army. I have no regiment details. I have searched Asplin Military history.no luck.

William was there between 1878 and 1901 for 12 -15 years
married to an Egyptian lady.Hoping for civilian records.
This is your mission should you choose to accept it.
