Join quidco.com - log in, go to ancestry on their list of merchants, click on the link and take a sub. You will receive 25% cash back (less a fiver for yearly membership). Ive had nearly £800 cash back now in just over 2 years.

There was a thread recently saying to buy Ancestry through Quidco. Im not in UK so no idea about Quidco.
I googled Quidco Ancestry and it comes up with discount. Some as much as 25%

Essentials subscription is around £85 a year for access to census and BMD records, plus a few others which may or may not be of interest.

Don't be tempted to go for premium or world wide subscription unless you are sure that the additional data (mainly U.S. and overseas) is of any use to you. You can always upgrade later

Also check out the GR Gold subscription which gives you discounted access to census and BMD records from other related sites. I can't speak first hand but am told it can be cheaper than Ancestry, depending what it is you want to research.
