Thanks Christine - will go back and have another look.

Sounds like it is one of the two though.

Thanks all for your help.

I do not know why this did not come up for me! Aston is very likely as this is the area where the whole family are from.

And the suggestion of the other death being the son's is very good.

Many thanks to you all as this has been puzzing me for a few weeks. Out of interest, where did you do your search to get this answer?

Thanks again

What about the death in 1855?

CLW2005

CLW2005 Report 8 Nov 2008 21:01

would suggest that death may be the son, Joseph??

Hi

I have an IGI birth for Joseph as 1812 in Birmingham, then a marriage to Margaret Thompson on 24 Sept 1838.

They are on 1851 census. Then on 1861 census, Margaret is described as widowed - living with children Charles, Elizabeth, Frederick, James and Joseph.

However the only death of Joseph Tandy I can find is in Jul/Aug/Sept 1881 in Birmingham - vol 6d p67 - which of course doesn't make any sense.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Thanks
Allison
