How do i find out if they have already been done. And if not can i add them to an online data base. Would it be good to take photos of them?

Try contacting the local Record Office, any local family history society, the church (if it's a churchyard) or the local council (if it's a cemetry) ... the local family history society would be my first port of call 'cos if anyone is doing it/has done it, it will probably be them.

Try this site:

A really good site that you can add your transcriptions to from all around the world.
