Can you find the name of their local Catholic church. As practising Catholics then they probably had the funeral mass there. The church may well then be able to give you more info.

My partner has just discovered that he had a younger brother who died aged 17 months and we are trying to find his grave. All close family have died as well so cant ask them.

The child's name was Gerrard Francis Shiels, parents John Joseph and Madeleine Shiels. He died on 14/9/1964 at Bham Children's hospital.

At the time the family were living in Ickmield Square Bham (close to the Jewellery quarter) and the family were practising (but very poor) Catholics.

I have been to the library and looked through cemetry records without any success. The library staff were very helpful but said that I may not be able to find anything as the family were Catholic.

Is this right? And if so, what can I do next? I really need to find this little boy's grave.

Thanks to anyone who can advise me.
