Royal Navy service records were given to the individual when they were discharged although you can obtain Army records.

Hello,

My grandfather was part of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserves from 1938 through to the end of the second world war.

My other grandfather was in the army, though I'm not sure which section.

Can anyone give me tips on where to start looking for information.
