Barber of Norfolk/Suffolk

Please can anyone help. My x2 Gt grandparents were Robert Barber b. 1807 Norfolk?Suffolk & Sarah Barber b. 1810 Suffolk. I have found a marriage record for them but the only birth record that I can find for Robert gives the same parents as that of Susan. This can't be right as that would make them brother & sister!
According to the IGI records, Susan married Robert in 1928.
Any suggestions please.
Thanks
Heather

Are you able to visit one of the family history centres to view the film of the records, both the marriage and the births. You can search on familysearch for the centre nearest you.

I have heard that sometimes it provides additional information.

I assume these are the records you refer to:

SUSAN BARBER
Birth: 27 DEC 1810
Christening: 29 DEC 1810 South Elmham Saint Cross, Suffolk, England
Father: JOHN BARBER
Mother: SARAH SEAMAN

or
Susannah Barber
Birth: 04 OCT 1810 Halesworth, Suffolk, England
Father: John Barber
Mother: Anna Maria Barber

Family search is playing up for me so I'm having trouble finding Robert.

Its a bit strange. I did a parent search, entered John Barber father and Sarah Seaman mother and it came up with 39 children ranging from 1793 to 1812. Although it also brought up Sarah Seamons as a mother.

I think it might be a good idea to view the film if you can visit one of the centres.

I cannot find a marriage of a Robert Barber to a Sarah in 1828

.................. I can find several references to such a marriage in 1821, Beccles, Suffolk ..... and ALL of them are SUBMITTED records, by a member of the Mormon church, with no backup documentation

Thanks for all your reply's & help. The details of the marriage that 'Suffolk Sue' posted are the same as I have. I agree that I need to visit a family history centre.

Teresa, this is a very old thread so doubt they are checking back for replies.

You could try contacting Heather by clicking the purple "Send Message" button under her name.

If you want help with your own research then I'd suggest you go to the Find Ancestors board and start a thread of your own (just use the Add Topic" button on the top right of the board)
