Irene:

I hope this note gets through to you....I attmepted to send the other documents I have for you but they were went back saying your disk was full....meaning you've exceeded your alotted e-mail space. You'll need to empty it in order to make room for more mail...especially ones that have attachments. (Emptying includes both your inbox and sent box.) You can save the e-mails you want to keep to your PC clenaing up space....don't forget to empty the trash can as a full trash can is counted towards your allotted space. I will send the other documents as soon as your e-mail will allow.

I couldn't find anything after they went there on familysearch so assumed they weren't available, like here.

US census are available online up to 1930 so far....if you list the boys information I bet someone will come up with them.

Thanks Judy
I believe the boys did stay there but there isn't an available census since they went.
I knew that some family had moved to New York and I know that there was contact until at least the 1950's.
I will keep trying.

Irene:

Do you know if they stayed in the United States? If they did you could check US censuses. If they became citizens you could check the Social Security Death Index (free) at:

http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/

I've also had great sucess with obtaining (free) certificates from the new section of the LDS site (aka Family Search.) On the home page, under WHAT'S NEW cllick on SEE NEW PROTYPE FOR SEARCHING MILLIONS OF NEW RECORDS at:

www.familysearch.org

Check this part of the site often as new things are being posted all the time as volunteers transcribe them.

Hi
I have found what I believe to be my Great Gran on a ship from Liverpool to New York in June 1924, to visit her son in Brooklyn (there is an address). I have found the son going to New York with, I think, his brother in 1905. Both the boys were single when they went. The names, dates etc fit but how do I take this further? Will I be able to obtain certificates? I'm not having much luck with the family history site.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Irene x
